Rathdown County Council has announced plans for the refurbishment and extensions to the Pavilion and Gate Lodge, and additional ancillary works at the People’s Park, Dun Laoghaire in County Dublin.

A spokesperson for the council said works will include the removal of a single-storey extension and shed to the rear of the Gate Lodge.

As well as the refurbishment of the Gate Lodge and a two storey extension.

In addition, refurbishment and construction works will be carried out on a single-storey extension to the Pavilion and ancillary works.

The Pavilion is a Protected Structure and both buildings are located in a Conservation Area.

Plans and particulars of the proposals are available for inspection at the Economic Development and Planning Department, County Hall, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposals, and dealing with the proper planning and development of the area in which the development is situated, may be made in writing on or before 23 April 2009.
