The Department of Education has approved funding for small capital works to be undertaken at Killaloe Girls Convent Primary School, in Co Clare.
Local TD Tony Killeen received confirmation of the grant aid approval.
He said: "The primary school will benefit from the provision of a new 25 meters squared resource room.
"The Building Unit of the Department of Education has informed me that it will be in contact with the school authority shortly in relation to the amount funding approved."
Mr Killeen added: "The approval of funding is very positive news for Killaloe Girls Convent Primary School as some had believed that the current economic downturn would have led to a subsequent decrease in Government spending in this area. I wish the school every success with its project."
So far this year, the Department of Education and Science has announced similar funding allocations for small-scale capital projects at Inagh, Querrin, Carron, Carrigaholt, Furglan, Clooney, Ballycar, Doolin Mixed, St. Conaire's Tullyvarraga, Quilty and Ruan National Schools, as well as St Joseph's Community College in Kilkee and Ennis Community College.
