Consultation Launched For Traffic Calming In The Creggan Heights Area

Traffic calming measures are to be considered for the Creggan Heights area in L'Derry.

The SDLP has been in contact with the Roads Service after a number of people complained about ongoing traffic and speeding problems.

SDLP Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan said: "There are lots of young children that play alongside the busy road in Creggan Heights and, unfortunately, there have been a number of children knocked down in recent times.

"Rightfully, many parents living in Creggan Heights have voiced their concerns and asked for speed bumps, to slow down traffic in order to protect their children.

"I am pleased Roads Service has launched a consultation on plans to deal with this issue and I urge all residents in the area to respond to the consultation to put forward their thoughts on the proposal."
