Over 10,000 sparks downed tools yesterday after talks between employers and their union failed to reach an agreement.
The Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union (TEEU) actioned the stoppage in relation to a 11% pay increase, which it says has been overdue for a number of years.

Major disruption has been caused to several high profile construction project all over the country, as fellow contractors refused to cross the picket line.
The Construction Industry Federation said its member companies have put around 4,000 striking electricians on protective notice.
TEEU has insisting that the strike will continue until the employers agree to address electricians' concerns.
