Uisce Éireann To Begin Work On Clonakilty's Water Network

Construction News Image
Uisce Éireann has announced that essential works will be carried out on the water network in Clonakilty on Tuesday 7 May and a water outage will take place.

The critical improvements are underway as part of Uisce Éireann's Leakage Reduction Programme. They will improve the water supply network in the region by minimising leaks and increasing the operational efficiency of the water system.

The outage will take place from 11pm on Tuesday 7 May until 5:30am on Wednesday 8 May. During this time, homes and businesses in Aghamilla, Ballyduvane, Cahermore, Cloheen, Currahevern, Darrara, Kilkeran North, Kilkeran South, Lisavaird, Rathbarry, Shannonvale, Tawnies and surrounding areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure or supply interruptions.

Programme Manager with Uisce Éireann, Jack Cronin said: "Every effort will be made to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses and restore the water supply as quickly as possible. We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during the works."

As the water supply returns, there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short-term.
