A total of 156 community groups and clubs across County Clare will share €181,061.31 in funding under the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2026.
The scheme is administered locally by the Clare Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), with support from Clare County Council.
The grants will help communities undertake essential repairs and upgrades to community facilities, enhance accessibility, deliver efficiency-focused projects and enable a wide range of organisations to buy necessary equipment.
Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, TD, and Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Jerry Buttimer, TD, announced support for over 4,100 projects across the country under LEP 2026.
Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council and Chair of Clare LCDC, Cllr Joe Killeen, said: "This is essential funding into the county that supports communities and aligns with Clare’s Local Economic and Community Plan's objectives."
Many of the successful Clare applications align with the key priorities set out in the LCDC’s Local Economic and Community Plan 2024–2030.
The Local Enhancement Programme 2026 is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. Launched in December 2025, it will provide €7 million in capital funding to support projects that are essential for many small community groups and organisations.
