Planned Water Outage In Rathfarnham As Upgrade Works Advance

Construction News Image

Uisce Éireann has announced a scheduled interruption to water supplies in Rathfarnham and nearby areas to facilitate ongoing upgrade works on the local network.

Customers in Rathfarnham, Bushy Park Road, Milltown Road and surrounding parts of Dublin 6 may experience disruptions.

The planned outage will enable essential works designed to strengthen the water network, reduce the likelihood of bursts and unplanned interruptions, and deliver a more dependable supply for homes, businesses and the wider community.

Nicola Butler, Uisce Éireann, said, "We understand the frustration that planned outages can cause for our customers, and we wish to assure impacted customers that all efforts will be made to complete the works and restore full supply as soon as possible."

These works form part of Uisce Éireann's ongoing leakage reduction programme. With over 65,000 km of underground pipes nationwide, many leaks are hard to detect, but progress is being made: national leakage has fallen from 49% in 2014 to 36% today.
