Irish Water has issued an apology to residents living in the village of Banteer, Cork, after the water supply was shut down on Monday, 02 October, due to an unexpected change in the colour of the water from the local spring source.
Investigations are ongoing and Irish Water and Cork County Council are supplementing the supply by bringing in tankers of treated water.
This is being fed directly into the water network at present in order to maintain a water supply to as many customers as possible.
Three additional tankers will also be made available in public areas for customers who are experiencing disruption to their supply. They will be located at the following locations:
• Banteer Church
• Banteer School
• Rathcool School
