County Galway Water Treatment Plant To Be Upgraded

A water treatment plant in Gort, Co Galway, is set to undergo repair works.

The project will see the Gort Water Treatment Plant improved to provide a more advanced treatment process to help protect against contaminants and improve the quality of water.

Customers in the area may experience water loss on Wednesday 03 April between 10am and 4pm due to necessary works.

It is being delivered by Irish Water and Galway County Council.

This work forms part of a €2.3 million investment in the upgrade of the Gort and Spiddal Regional Water Supply Schemes.

The project commenced in April 2018 and is expected to be completed by October 2019.
