A four-night project to install a new radiology facility at Mercy University Hospital in Cork has been completed.

Offsite construction specialist ESS Modular delivered the scheme, with work beginning on the longest night of the year and the following three consecutive evenings to avoid disruption to the busy City Centre location and minimise traffic congestion.

This project required extensive engineering solutions to minimise the potential flood risk of the site due to its location which is situated on the banks of the River Lee.


This new facility will enhance the radiology department services and improve the patient experience at Mercy University Hospital, by offering five additional ultrasound screening rooms. The project includes construction and fitout of the new hospital extension as well as works within the existing hospital building to connect to existing services.


Groundworks are due to be completed by early Autumn.
