A vacant shopping centre in Bangor has been sold in a multi-million pound deal.
The Flagship Centre was purchased by developers Brookland Property with immediate effect.
Local Green Party representative Cllr Stephen Dunlop has welcomed the news, which will see a prime city centre location regenerated.
Cllr Dunlop said: "We have a once in a generation opportunity to take an aspirational approach to the development of Bangor town centre, including Queen's Parade and now the Flagship Centre. This project will contribute enormously to all that is planned to revitalise Bangor Town Centre and help our community to build back better. I would call upon all agencies and residents to work with in partnership with this development team and the new owner in making this once again a Flagship offer within our town centre."
North Down Green Party NI MLA Rachel Woods added: "There exists a rare chance to create and regenerate public space that serves future generations as well as the communities of today. There is great opportunity for the Flagship can be just that.
"That the great team at North Down Community Network will continue to be supported by the new owner is only good news for Bangor."
