Wolseley, Ireland’s largest supplier of plumbing and heating products and a major supplier of building materials, has announced a major investment in its supply chain logistics capacity.
The company, which incorporates the trading brands of Heat Merchants, Tubs & Tiles and Brooks, is to build a 170,000 sq ft Distribution Centre in Naas, County Kildare.
The building of the new Centre has been identified as key to the success of the company’s new logistics framework. The Naas Centre will complement Wolseley Ireland’s existing Distribution Centres at Athlone and Balbriggan.
Wolseley Ireland MD Pat Roche said: “The Naas Distribution Centre will provide capacity for the planned growth of Wolseley Ireland, which will be both organic and through acquisition. It will also improve the service we provide to all our customers, and confirm Wolseley as the number one choice in Ireland for all building materials, plumbing and heating supplies.
“A new framework for logistics is a must if the supply chain is to effectively support the company’s ambitious growth targets, offering the positives of greater cost efficiency, capacity and world class service levels.
“This investment is a big step forward for Wolseley Ireland, creating further employment opportunities, and reflects Wolseley’s confidence in its Irish operations.”
