Newcastle Pub's £700k Facelift Backed By Bank

Construction News Image
A popular County Down pub has underwent a dramatic £700,000 facelift, partly backed by Ulster Bank.

O'Hare's in Newcastle received around half a million pounds from the bank to extend and refurbish its leisure offerings in the seaside town.

The family run O'Hare's Lounge Bars redevelopment is the latest step forward in the wider regeneration of Newcastle.

Ulster Bank recently announced £250m funding for small to medium-sized enterprises in Northern Ireland.

Jeff Aiken, the senior manager at Ulster Bank’s North Down Business Centre, said the complex on Newcastle's central promenade is now an impressive multi-entertainment venue.

"The investment has led to the complete extension and refurbishment of the nightclub, upstairs dining area and function rooms. It is now a first-class venue which will be an asset to the town in terms of attracting outside visitors," said Mr Aiken.

Ulster Bank now offers customers a wide range of financial support including unsecured small business loans up to £25,000 at competitive rates and trading business loans which allow customers to postpone capital repayments.

It also includes monies available through the government’s Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme.

Other options available are enhanced invoice finance and stocking facilities which enable customers to better manage their working capital flows, effective ways to release cash through using the assets already owned by the business and short term trade finance essential to keep imports and exports flowing.
