A public poll is further "proof" the Government's NAMA plans should be "ditched", Fine Gael's financial spokesman has said.
A survey conducted by the Irish Times/MRBI found just one in four voters supported the Government's approach.
"It is crystal clear that the public share Fine Gael’s belief that the NAMA proposal is fundamentally flawed," said Richard Bruton TD.
"Despite a barrage of endorsements from Fianna Fail, the Greens, developers, banks, stockbrokers and other vested interests, the public have clearly seen the truth behind the NAMA gamble."
Mr Bruton claimed the proposals are "unfair", and cannot guarantee credit flow.
"It will not work and voters know it. The Government must show the necessary courage and ditch NAMA" he added.
