Managing Director of the company Brendan C Igoe said: "Owatrol Oil was originally discovered by a painting contractor who found that it stopped rust on a moored steel hulled ship he had big rust maintenance problems with and over the decades the product has gained huge respect in the painting and decorating trades."

Mr Igoe continued: "Owatrol Oil works in an unusual way in so far as when it is applied on to the rusted surface where it penetrates all the way in to the good steel at the back and forces out all traces of moisture and oxygen otherwise known as rust food.
"It then dries into a flexible clear membrane which keeps new moisture and oxygen out, thereby starving the rust of its food."
He added: "Owatrol Oil is applied neat initially to saturate the rusted area and can later be added to any oil based primer and or paint to provide protection against the return of the rust for years to come."
