A new state of the art £1m community hall has opened in Castlerock, Co Londonderry.
Peter Thompson Hall will provide a new base for 1st Castlerock Scout Group.
The hall was originally opened in 1979 following a unique agreement and partnership between Coleraine Borough Council and the scouts.
Through the years it has serviced the Castlerock community and hosted many groups and events, from Scouts to Brownies and Summer Fetes to Christmas light switch ons.
Mayor of Coleraine, Sandy Gilkinson, who officially opened the new building, said: "A refurbishment such as this doesn't happen without a lot of work, support and of course funding.
"To that end I wish to congratulate those who have helped Council make this superb venue possible.
"Special thanks must go to the 1st Castlerock Scout Group for their effective and ongoing partnership with Council and to Jean Caulfield MBE who has played an integral role in the management of the hall and in the shaping of the new facility."
The Hall is currently used by the local bowling clubs, Scouts, Brownies, artists, yoga classes and the Community Association.
