Grant For Down Rugby Works

Retrospective funding has been awarded to cover improvement works at a south Down rugby ground.

Ballynahinch Rugby Football Club completed a programme of improvements to the club's facilities, backed by Down District Council's Sports Development Grant scheme.

Council chairman William Dick, who presented the cheque, said: "I am delighted to be here to witness first hand the results of Down District Council’s support.

"Ballynahinch Rugby Football Club has a great history spanning over 55 years, and I am certain that the improvements I have seen today will provide for an equally long and successful future."

Alan Montgomery, Club President, said: "I would like to commend Down District Council for its efforts in providing assistance to many clubs throughout our district, bringing great benefits to the whole community, and to extend our thanks for the continued support the council has shown to Ballynahinch Rugby Club over the years."
