A £7.4m investment in improving Armagh's road network is progressing well, the NI Transport Minister has said, despite some of the funding still remaining to be secured.
Speaking ahead of a meeting between Roads Service and Armagh Council, Conor Murphy said schemes in Edenaveys are at prequalification for tender stage.
Armagh North and West Link Road is at specimen design stage and Armagh East Link at preferred option stage.
"The delivery of all these schemes will be subject to the availability of finance at the time," he Minister said.
A major collision remedial scheme on the A27 Tandragee Road at Shortt’s Cross Roads has recently been completed.
"This scheme provides a roundabout at the junction of the Tandragee Road / Portadown Road / Mullavilly Road and Brackagh Road," said Mr Murphy.
"The benefits deliver enhanced traffic progression, improves safety and convenience for both motorists and pedestrians."
Southern Division’s Network Maintenance Manager Arnold Hamilton said other works that are ongoing and programmed to be completed this year include improvements at the A29 Rock Road junction, Armagh, as well as traffic calming works on the Granemore Road, Keady.
"The financial position for the next two years will depend on decisions made by Executive.
"However Roads Service is still planning improvement schemes and welcomes comments from council on its programmes," said Mr Hamilton.
