Portrush Nightclub Upgrade Completed

Over £1.5m has been spent upgrading one of Northern Ireland's best known nightclubs.

Lush at Kelly's Portrush underwent a massive modernisation programme, which saw a complete overhaul of the club's interior.

Despite the scale and scope of the refurbishment project, work was completed in 30 days using local suppliers.

It is hoped that the newly refurbished venue, which plays host to world renowned DJs and regularly attracts thousands of revellers from across the island of Ireland, will now compete with some of the top entertainment venues across Europe.

The investment by Cloughorr Investments Ltd was supported by Northern Bank.

Cloughorr Managing Director Peter Wilson said the decision to enhance the club was taken despite the challenging economic climate.

"The work will significantly enhance the long term offering to customers not only from across the island of Ireland but also Europe.

"We've been able to achieve strong business growth partly due to the access and strong relationships with a professional team from Northern Bank who have provided the right knowledge, support and solutions to assist in achieving our business objectives."

Robert McClements, Northern Bank Senior Corporate Banking Manager, said the scope of Cloughorr Investments' business activities, which range from holiday home parks to bars and restaurants, has meant that a team of specialist from across the bank have assisted with its growth plans.

He said: "Northern Bank is committed to supporting local businesses develop and grow. The significant investment that Cloughorr is making and Northern Bank is supporting will make a tangible and real difference to how it will achieve growth and success in the months and years ahead."

Cloughorr Investments Ltd plans to invest a further £2m in the refurbishment of its Golf Links Hotel in the coming months.
