Paving along one of Waterford's popular pedestrian areas is to get a complete revamp.
The Merchant's Quay footpath is being replaced with high quality limestone paving, similar to recent improvements in other areas of the city centre.
Contractor Niall Barry & Co Ltd has been appointed to carry out the project on behalf of Waterford City Council, which is funding the project directly.
Works began last week and are expected to continue until 18 December.
"Traffic Management will be in place on Merchant’s Quay/The Bridge junction throughout this time," said a city council spokesman.
