Over £900,000 is to be spent improving a popular promenade along the world-renowned Causeway coast.
Works to the East Strand Promenade, in Portrush, will include enhanced lighting, increased street furniture and better landscaping.
The planned project with will be undertaken on a number of key sections of the promenade, from the Arcadia to the Watersports Centre, and along the front of the East Strand car park.
Tourism Minister Arlene Foster said the scheme will transform the appearance of the promenade and maximise the natural surroundings.
Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s Tourism Development Scheme has provided £450,000 towards the project.
Over £400,000 of funding has been pledged by the Department for Social Development.
Coleraine Borough Council contributed £50,000 of additional support.
Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie stressed the importance of encouraging regeneration to promote investment and employment.
"This work to the East Strand promenade will provide improved lighting, easier access to the beach, and improved pedestrian linkage to the commercial area of the town," she said.
Mayor of Coleraine, Sandy Gilkinson, added: "The project aims to promote physical and economic development within the town and will complement the regeneration, with further works planned to rejuvenate the area around Station Square and West Bay."
