Planning permission has been sought for a new petrol station in Monaghan.
The proposals include the construction of a new two-storey commercial building.
Colm and Jim McBride submitted the planning application to the county council last month.
Planners will now consider the merits of the Carrickmacross development, located on Cloughvalley Lower.
The four island petrol station will incorporate a 353 square metre unit, which will house a shop, a cafe and sandwich bar, and HGV canopies.
Proposals have also been put forward for underground storage tanks, car park spaces, an auto car wash and various advertising signs.
Boundary treatment and landscaping works are planned, as well as new vehicular access points to the site off the Castleblayney Road.
County council planners said the proposed development would materially contravene zoning objective B 'Higher Density Housing' of the Monaghan County Development Plan 2007-2013 if approved.
Meanwhile, permission has been sought to change the use of land on O'Neill Street in the town from residential use to ground floor retail area, with an ancillary first floor office.
Martin Callan put forward the application for number 45 on the street.
