Developer Fined Over Fatal Safety Breach

A fine has been handed down to a Co Roscommon businessman and developer after an accident at a construction site resulted in the death of a worker.

Sean Doyle and two companies with which he is associated - Roscommon Building Company and Owencrest Ltd - received the €350,000 fine at a sitting of the Circuit Court this afternoon.

Mr Doyle was found guilty of breaching health and safety laws after 49-year-old Czeslav Malinowski received serious head injuries after falling from a teleporter in April 2006.
