The work force at a leading Irish building merchant has raised €1780 for the Galway Hospice as part of the Together campaign to support Help the Hospices.
Staff at JP Corry's Gort branch held a Jersey Day, which involved spending the day wearing the jersey of the sports team they disliked the most. They also held a raffle with the loser being made to wear a Sponge Bob Square Pants T-shirt.
The Oranmore branch organised three coffee mornings for customers, while a member of staff was also sponsored to bleach his hair yellow.
Shane Minogue, Branch Manager comments: "We were delighted to be able to raise money for Galway Hospice, which provides an invaluable service to the local community. What’s more, it was a great opportunity for staff, suppliers and customers alike to share in the experience, whether by taking part or donating, and have fun together at the same time."
Emer Molloy from the Galway Hospice added: "The team at JP Corry has shown a huge commitment to the Together campaign and we are grateful for every penny raised. This kind of support can make a real difference to the lives of our patients and it’s great that staff at JP Corry will actually be able to see their money at work in their local hospice."
