Cork City Council has completed the installation of lighting on the Water Tower in Knocknaheeny, on the northside of Cork.
City Manager, Joe Gavin said: "The investment puts an emphasis on a significant asset associated with water distribution and supply which can be appreciated in the immediate locality of Knocknacullen and is of interest to the local residents committed to promoting community development."
The installation of lighting, mounted on the structure of the tower itself, incorporates fittings that will not require the usual maintenance or lamp replacement and so ensure reduced running costs for the council.
The project cost €43,000 and was carried out in association with LIGHTWISE and Sean Ahern Electrical.
