A Trillick man has been made the subject of a confiscation order at Omagh Crown Court in relation to illegal waste offences.
Mr Bernard Barrett of Moneygar Road, Trillick, Co. Tyrone, pleaded guilty to one charge of keeping controlled waste without a licence.
The court made a confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 for £100,000 in relation to benefit from his criminal conduct. This has to be paid within 12 months.
Officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) had estimated that Mr Barrett had filled in his sand and gravel quarry with a minimum of 6,500 tonnes of municipal waste from the Republic of Ireland.
