Irish Environment Minister John Gormley has announced an independent report on the controversial Poolbeg incinerator plan.
The announcement comes after the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) stood by its report, which supports the construction of the waste facility in Dublin.
The Environment Minister has previously rubbished the report, while private waste operators have also labelled it inaccurate.
Despite the ESRI announcing corrections to the original report, Mr Gormley has now appointed John Hennessy as a senior council to carry out his own investigation.
Mr Hennessy will examine the risks and implications of the incinerator.
