A South Down-based joinery sub-contractor has won a £5m contract to fit out a restaurant for celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal.
Newry's MJM won the contract for the new restaurant to be based in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hyde Park, London.
Last year the MJM Group launched its new London based Project Management operation - MJM Fit Out Ltd. The company is headed up by Neil Dickson (Operations Director) and Dave Horace (Construction Director).
Neil and Dave have a combined experience of 30 years plus in the London fit out sector. Neil began his career at James F McCue, based at the time in Carryduff, as an apprentice, but has spent the last several years working in London.
The Newry branch of the firm, which were behind the production and installation of the highly complex 'Lily Pods' at Belfast's Victoria Square shopping centre, employs around 100 people.
The group's managing director, Jonathan Guest, said: "A lot of clients are looking for strong companies who are capable of offering a turnkey package at a very competitive rate and we believe that we can do that."
