Tenders are now being invited for the demolition of part of the existing school comprising a 1920s building and link corridor at St Patricks National School, Corranagh, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.

The approved plans include the construction of a new two-storey extension to comprise five classrooms, a library and resource room, a general purpose room, servery, boiler room, multi-purpose room, storage and toilet facilities and circulation space at ground floor level and six classrooms, three set rooms and circulation space at first floor level.

Also included is the demolition of the existing boundary wall along the east boundary of the site and construction of a new boundary wall in re-aligned position along the east boundary of the site and the re-alignment of the existing traffic barrier along main road.

The removal of all the existing temporary accommodation, seven prefab buildings in total and two-storey extension and demolition of part of existing school.

The approved plans also include the alterations and renovations to the existing 1982 building and the connection to the existing waste water treatment system on site granted under planning reference No. 08/40309 and the temporary construction access along the south east boundary of the site and associated siteworks will be provided.
