Waterford City Council has approved improvement works to fendering at the Frank Cassin, North and Forde Wharves.
This will involve piling works, fabrication and erection of structural steel, the removal of some existing timber fendering - greenheart or equivalent, repairs to fendering, and the provision of new fender units, ladders and chains.
Demolition of two existing buildings and of the busbars and busbar protective structure associated with the gantry crane, which formerly serviced the container terminal at Frank Cassin Wharf.
According to www.unearthore.com, works also include improvements to the entrance area, paving, fencing, car and bus parking areas, traffic management measures and landscaping.
