Blackrock Gets College Extension

A college extension project in Co Dublin has won planning approval.

It will comprise learning spaces and a sports hall at Blackrock with detailed plans just approved by Dunlaoghaire/Rathdown Council to Clonkeen College at the end of April.

The extension and refurbishment project will be at Clonkeen College, Meadow Vale, Blackrock.

Plans comprise the construction of a two-storey wing incorporating 12 new learning spaces with associated support spaces, circulation etc, a new sports hall with changing rooms and associated support spaces serving the new hall and rear playing facilities.

The new sports hall will be a two-storey like volume and includes part two-storey accommodation and a viewing gallery.

The architect is O'Keeffe Architects and the consulting engineer is White Young Green.

The website www.unearthore.com revealed that the roof will be metal decking and the windows of aluminium frames with double-glazing.

The walls exterior will be render with paint finish.
