JSL Group has been appointed as the main contractor for the construction of a new school at Rushbrooke National School, Cobh, Co. Cork.

The new primary school will measure approximately 4,205 square metres consisting of 24 classrooms, special needs facility, general purpose room and other ancillary rooms.

According to the website, www.unearthore.com the cost of the scheme is in the region of €3.5 million. Sub-contractors will be appointed shortly.

Phased demolition of existing school and provision of hard play areas, landscaping and car parking.

Main construction work is expected to commence on site during late June, 2010 and the contract period is estimated at 13 months.
