St Mary's Gets €600,000 School Extension

The main contractor has been appointed for the construction of a new single-storey extension to the side of St Mary's National School at Waterpark, Carrigaline Middle, Cork.

The plans involve associated siteworks, extension for a (Special Needs Unit) with the approximate Size 550 square metres.

According to the website www.unearthore.com the works comprise the construction of a single storey extension accommodating two new classrooms, one activities area, one multi sensory room, one office and adjacent uses.

Further the removal of two existing prefab classrooms, the construction of an external safe play area and associated site development works.

An on site date has yet to be confirmed however it is expected that work will commence during late June, 2011. The value of the scheme is in the region of €600,000. Sub-contractors will be appointed in due course.
