Construction is about to start on an extension at Killyhevlin Water Plant, Enniskillen.

Northern Ireland Water is investing more than a quarter of a million pounds in their treatment plant on the shores of Lough Erne at Killyhevlin.

NI Water said the work would be starting before the end of the month.

In total, they will be spending £270,000 to construct a new pumping station and associated improvements at the existing site of the treatment works.

NI Water believes that the scheme is good news for the local area as it will increase security of water supply and capacity at the plant, which treats water for the majority of Fermanagh and the Clogher Valley as far as Ballygawley.

The contractor for this scheme is Deane Public Works Ltd.
