Tipperary-based contractors, Clancy Construction has commenced work on the construction of two single storey extensions to accommodate 30 bedrooms and ancillary accommodation.
The scheme, designed by Tipperary-based architects WO Morrisey & Son also calls for alterations to the existing building which will include re-designation of some rooms which will reduce the number of existing bedrooms by two and extensions to the existing laundry and to the proposed cleaners room and sluice room.
Partially roofing an existing courtyard to accommodate a dining room extension will also be incorporated in to the development. External works will include construction of a new free standing building to incorporate a plant room and stores and will include alterations to paved areas including re-location of turning area together with alterations to drainage and other services and will include rain water harvesting.
The development will measure 1,190 sq.m. and will be located on a 0.98 ha. site. Works on the scheme are expected to be complete in Q1 2012.
