Clones Erne Tenders Sought

Tenders are currently being sought by Monaghan County Council for various contractors required to work on the new sports scheme proposed by Monaghan County Council and the Clones Community Forum.

The Clones Erne East Sports Project consists of the construction of a 1,285 sq.m. sports building. The project calls for an 8-lane athletics track, a 3G all-weather multi-purpose pitch, the relocation of the existing GAA pitch, flood lighting to all pitches and track, car parking, roads, footpaths and general site lighting. A new entrance, boundary walls and fencing will also be required, along with entrance and building signage, landscape planting and all associated site works and services.

The overall main contract is a design and build contract. The contract shall be Works Contactor, Designer, PSDP and PSCS. It is intended to novate the existing single point design team (architects, landscape architects, civil and structural engineers, M&E services engineers, Project Supervisor Design Process) to the successful Main Contractor at Construction Stage.

Work Specialists with design input for the 3G Synthetic pitch surface and for the Athletics Track synthetic sports surface are also required. As a result of this requirement, expressions of interest are also invited from suitable qualified Works Specialists, (3G Synthetic Sports Surfaces Contractors), to be shortlisted onto a panel.

A pre-qualification/shortlisting process applies and interested contractors should complete the questionnaire available on e-tenders website and return it by 5pm on Tuesday 30th August 2011 to Administrative officer, Corporate Affairs Section, Monaghan County Council, The Glen, Monaghan.

An exact start date for the scheme has yet to be determined, however it is envisaged that work will take in the region of 18 months to complete.

At present, Teague & Sally Limited and Coady Partnership Architects have been engaged.
