Tughans have entered an 18-strong team in this year's Million Makers Competition which is run by and in support of youth charity, The Prince's Trust. The team is made up of both solicitors and support staff.
The competition required Tughans to pitch their entrepreneurial ideas to a panel of three business people in the style of the 'Dragons Den' to seek seed funding to assist them in taking forward their entrepreneurial ideas.
The team hopes to use its seed funding to raise significant sums for The Prince’s Trust, the charity which Tughans has chosen to support in 2011.
After a very successful pitch, the Tughans team is delighted to have received confirmation that they have been awarded seed funding.
Speaking on hearing the decision, Team Leader Barbara Creed said: "We at Tughans are tremendously excited not only about the challenge of the competition and execution of our exciting ideas, but also about the work which will be carried out by The Prince’s Trust with the money raised."
Barbara went on to add: "We are also delighted and extremely grateful for the support we have received from both Tughans and other professionals who are assisting us with the projects."
The competition began in early July when all the teams were required to submit their business plans and it runs until the end of January 2012. The team in Northern Ireland that raises the most money for The Prince’s Trust will be crowned regional winners and will go forward to the UK final. The overall winner will be announced at The Prince’s Trust’s star studded National Celebration event which will be held in London in March 2012.
The Prince’s Trust has a wonderful track record of transforming the lives of disadvantaged young people in Northern Ireland. All of the money raised in the competition will be used locally.
