The main contractor has been appointed for the works involved in the re-surfacing of car park and synthetic carpet on hockey pitch at the Joey Dunlop leisure centre, Ballymoney.

The work by Crawford Contracts Group Ltd at the Car Park involves planning of the existing Bitmac car park surface and resurfacing with a single layer of Bitmac wearing course.

The work also includes the provision of car park markings and arrows and the lifting and resetting of manhole lids and gullies.

Work at the Synthetic Hockey Pitch involves the removal of the sand filled synthetic carpet and replacing with new sand dressed synthetic carpet complete with hockey and football lines.

Main construction work is expected to commence on site during late August, 2011.

The estimated value of the Car Park project is £25,000. The estimated value of the Synthetic Hockey Pitch project is £135,000.
