Green Light for €150m Wind Farm

An Bord Pleanala has approved planning permission for a €150 million County Clare wind farm development at Mount Callan in west Clare.

West Clare Renewable Energy Limited is behind the proposed development which will comprise 29 wind turbines with hub height of 80 m. and rotor diameter of 90 m., substation and associated two control buildings, borrow pits, one no. anemometry mast and underground electricity connection to site boundary.

Work on the project will also include new and upgraded access roads and all associated site and ground works.

We understand the project will proceed once a grid connection system has been established, and will create 150-200 jobs during the construction phase.

An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission subject to 19 conditions.
