The main contractor has been appointed for the construction of a multi use games and play area in Lisburn.
T and A Kernoghan Limited are the main contractors with the development being promoted by Lisburn City Council.
According to the website, www.unearthore.com,the scheme is estimated to cost in the region of £300,000.
Construction work commenced on site during early August, 2011 and the contract period is estimated at four months.
The plans involve the construction of fencing, installation of floodlighting and all associated works.
The play area is located at Mourneview Park, Brokerstown Road, Lisburn. It will be beside Maghaberry Community Centre, with funding being provided by Lisburn City Council and the Alpha Programme.
The new facility will contain a sand dressed games area on which local residents can play mini hockey, soccer, basketball, netball and tennis.
