Limerick County Council have gave a 'thumbs up' to plans submitted by manufacturer Analog Devices.
The Boston- Based semi-conductor manufacturers submitted plans for a unit to house the 100 new staff who will be employed as part of a new research and development project.

According to the plans lodged at County Hall, Analog is seeking permission for a new 140,000 square foot facility providing office accommodation for design engineering staff, as well as associated laboratories, a canteen and other ancillary facilities.
The two-storey building will be adjoined with the main Analog Devices manufacturing centre via a bridge, while the plans also provide for increased car parking space, shrubbery and a high security fence.
The building will have large open plan office areas, cellular offices, meeting rooms, laboratories, and a large canteen.
The construction project is expected to cost in the region of €50m.
It is a move which will see more than 260 jobs created - including some 100 permanent positions - the planning authority has moved fast to give the company the green light.
