Waterford Sports Facility Moves Forward

An IT institute in Waterford will be getting a new multi-euro sports facility it has been confirmed.

It is expected that the main contractor will be appointed in December 2011 to undertake construction work on the new facility at the Waterford Institute of Technology.

The Development designed by Henry J Lyons and Partners calls for the construction of a single-storey sports and multi-purpose hall with support accommodation over two and three storeys.

It is understood the new build will be connected to the existing two-storey sports pavilion with car parking and all associated site works included in the project.

Construction work on the new sports facility is expected to commence in early 2012, with work taking in the region of 12 months to complete.

The development will measure 4,891 sq. m.
