A new building will be constructed to facilitate the Irish Coast Guard.
It is understood that building work has started on the new two-story building in Crosshaven, County Cork.
All associated hard & soft landscaping works including improvement of perimeter boundaries, provision of 17 car-parking spaces and external storage shed will be tackled during the project.
The neighboring Garda Station will also receive ten new parking spaces according to the plan.
Meanwhile the vehicular driveway and external lighting,to be shared by Garda Station and Irish coast guard service, will also be enhanced.
A new front boundary wall will enclose the new facility and a wall-mounted sign will mark the entrance.
Work on the project, for the Office of Public Works is expected to take in the region of ten months to complete.
The development will measure 580 sq.m. and will be located on a 0.2 hectare site.
