Tenders Sought For €390k School Extension

Tenders are being to be sought from contractors to undertake work on an extension to a Monaghan school.

The construction of a new single storey extension of 438 sq.m to the north of the existing school is described in the plans.

Three new classrooms, toilet facilities, an entrance area and link corridors: a general office, caretaker's and plant room will be housed in the extension.

Meanwhile the project designed by, Sean Harrington Architects calls for the demolition of the existing single-storey toilet structures and service yard area to the existing building of Monaghan Model School.

Classrooms in the existing building will be restored to their original proportions with the removal of partitions and ceilings.

Construction work is expected to commence in Spring of 2012 and take in the region of 18 months to complete.

The development will measure 438 sq.m. and will be located on a 0.6 hectare site.
