Tenders are currently being sought for the appointment of a contractor to undertake work on the construction of a new leisure facility at St. Columbs Park in Londonderry.

The project calls for the replacement and relocation of multi-purpose sports leisure facility including community cultural and assembly use. The project comprises construction of a new building and the demolition of the existing leisure centre, extensive site works including two floodlit synthetic five-a-side pitches.

Construction work is expected to commence in March 2012 and will take in the region of 18 months to complete.

The development will measure 13,039 sq.m. and will be located on a 2.41 hectare site.
