The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese visited the Knockamann Development, St. Joseph's Intellectual Disability Service, where she met with clients and staff.
Caroline Coakley, Service Manager said: Today is a wonderful occasion for the clients and staff of St. Joseph's Intellectual Disability Service who have been looking forward to this momentous occasion. It is a great honour to have the President visit the service during her last week in Office. We are delighted to have the opportunity to show the President around the Knockamann development."
The Knockamann development is a state of the art customised residential development, comprising 10 bungalows, each with six individual bedrooms and a comprehensive Day Resource Centre. The Knockamann residential development was commissioned in late 2010 and 55 clients are now happily settled in their new homes and experiencing a much improved quality of life.
