Main Contractor Appoint On £12m Hospital Project

A contractor has now been appointed to undertake work on a new acute unit at Antrim Area Hospital.

The project will call for the relocation of existing Emergency Department and ancillary accommodation along with additional 24 bed medical ward and ancillary accommodation with associated car parking and site works.

Construction work on the scheme is expected to commence in December 2011 and take in the region of 15 months to complete.

The development will measure 5,826 sq.m and will be located on a 2.56 hectare site.
