South Tipperary Local Authorities Exit Waste Collection Market

South Tipperary Local Authorities have entered into a contract with Clean Ireland Recycling for the sale of its waste collection service.

Clean Ireland Recycling is a well-regarded, family owned refuse collection company, based in County Clare. They already collect household waste from customers in South Tipperary, mainly in the towns of Cahir, Cashel and Tipperary.

The sale will guarantee security of service to all householders as we hand over operations of our waste collection to one of the country's most reputable operators.

Clean Ireland Recycling has committed to offering a highly competitive price structure for the service in the coming years, as well as a service of the highest standards and they will issue an information pack to all customers in due course.

A comprehensive review of all options to the Council in relation to the retention of its waste collection service was carried out. Following careful consideration, and a competitive process with a number of private sector waste management companies, the decision was taken to transfer the service to Clean Ireland Recycling.

Caroline Walsh Chief Finance Officer with Clean Ireland Recycling said , : "We are delighted to be able to extend our operations in South Tipperary through the acquisition of waste services from South Tipperary Local Authorities. Our success over 20 years in this business as one of Ireland's most innovative waste management operators is based on our reputation for and dedication to quality of service. We deliver on this by enabling our customers to pay less by recycling more through one of the most advanced waste management services operating in Ireland.

"We are happy to say that the transition of services from South Tipperary Local Authorities to us will be seamless. We look forward to working with our new customers, whom we will be in contact with over the coming days, across the county and delivering this enhanced waste management solution that will ultimately reduce costs and help protect the environment."
