ESB Electric Ireland is reminding everyone to start preparing in plenty of time as harsher weather conditions approach.

During last year's Big Freeze, Ireland came to a standstill and according to the Irish Insurance Federation press office, insurers paid out over €224 million to homeowners and businesses, with the worst affected counties in Cork, Galway and Dublin. ESB Electric Ireland also has a range of products to protect against frost damage in the home or office. These include Knauf insulation rolls for the attic, cold water tank insulation kits, an attic door insulation kit, and Armaflex self-seal insulation for water pipes. The online store also stocks an infra-red lamp kit that can be placed near water tanks. This kit comes with a plug-in thermostat which can be set to switch the infra-red lamp on automatically when temperatures get very low.
