One of Northern Ireland's planning specialists has taken the bold step of setting up a new consultancy business in Belfast, according to the Ulster Star.

Despite the challenges faced by the local development and construction sectors, Lisburn man Clyde Shanks said his new company of the same name, will offer a full range of planning consultancy services, with a combined focus of traditional core sectors and growth areas such as renewable energy.

The company has already secured work on a range of major developments, including the construction of a commercial leisure scheme and a number of renewable energy projects.

Mr Clyde said: "The market is certainly very different from a few years ago, but many of the changes that have taken place present opportunities."
